Enterbung und Gotteskindschaft. Zur Problematik der Handlungsmotivierung im „Willehalm“ Wolframs von Eschenbach

Ausgehend von dem Motivationsdefizit bei der Enterbung Willehalms wirft der Aufsatz ein neues Licht auf die vieldiskutierte Streitfrage um den Heilsstatus der Heiden, indem er den Blick von der syntagmatischen Entwicklung auf paradigmatische Relationen lenkt. Das Motiv von der Enterbung des Protagonisten und der Gotteskindschaftsgedanke in der Rede Gyburgs erhellen sich wechselseitig, sobald sie aufeinander bezogen werden. Die familiäre Konfliktsituation erhält so eine theologisch-anthropologische Dimension, die die Grundposition des Menschen vor Gott kennzeichnet.

Taking the motivation deficit of Willehalm's disinheritance as its starting point, this article sheds new light on the much-discussed issue of the salvation of the heathens by directing attention away from the syntagmatic development and towards paradigmatic relations. The motif of the disinheritance of the protagonist and the idea of children of God in Gyburg's speech illuminate each other when a connection is made between the two. In this way, the family conflict situation is given a theological and anthropological dimension which characterises the basic position of human beings before God.
